Waiting on Your First Stripe Payout? Here's What to Know
When you connect your Stripe account to Firewood Camps, payments from your camp registrations are processed through Stripe and deposited directly into your bank account. Here's what to expect with your first payout.
There's a waiting period for your first payout
Stripe requires a 7–14 day waiting period before issuing your first payout. This is a standard Stripe requirement for all new accounts and cannot be shortened or waived — by Firewood or by Stripe.
During this time, payments from your event registrations are still being collected and held by Stripe. Once the waiting period ends, your payouts will begin automatically on a regular schedule.
How to check your payout status
- Log in to your Stripe Dashboard at dashboard.stripe.com
- Go to Balances → Payouts
- You'll see your estimated payout schedule and any pending amounts
Tip: Any changes you make to your payout method or schedule during the waiting period will take effect after your first payout is released.
Why your first payout might take longer than 7 days
The waiting period is typically 7 days, but it can be longer depending on:
- Your industry or business type — Stripe may extend the period up to 14 days for certain categories.
- Your country — Some countries have longer default payout timelines (up to 30 days).
- Bank processing — Weekends and bank holidays can add 1–2 business days. Once your bank finishes processing, funds are deposited automatically.
- Account verification — Stripe may need additional information (ID, business details, bank account confirmation) before releasing payouts. Check your Stripe Dashboard or email for any alerts.
After the waiting period
Once your first payout arrives, subsequent payouts will follow your regular schedule — typically on a daily or weekly rolling basis, depending on your Stripe settings.
All payments collected through Firewood Camps (registrations, add-ons, etc.) flow through your connected Stripe account. Firewood's platform fee is deducted automatically at the time of each transaction, so your payouts reflect your net revenue.
Still haven't received your payout?
If your waiting period has passed and you haven't seen a deposit:
- Check your Stripe Dashboard for any verification requests or holds.
- Confirm your bank account is correctly linked in Stripe under Settings → Bank accounts and scheduling.
- Check with your bank — some institutions take an extra business day to post incoming transfers.
- Contact Stripe Support directly from your Dashboard if everything looks correct on your end.
